Can DAX be converted directly to LookML?
No direct conversion should be promised. DAX logic is assessed, grouped by complexity, and rebuilt in LookML, warehouse SQL, or a derived table when needed. SquareShift engineers review filter context, date logic, nested measures, and business-critical KPIs before the Looker target is accepted.
What happens to Power BI semantic models?
They become candidates for governed LookML models and Explores after ownership, relationships, and measures are reviewed. The assessment checks reuse, dependencies, relationships, calculated columns, and measure definitions first, so the Looker model preserves business meaning instead of copying model sprawl into a new tool.
How is row-level security handled?
Power BI RLS rules are mapped to Looker permissions, user attributes, groups, and access grants. The migration plan includes role-based test cases, so access is checked against source behavior before cutover. Users should not see more or less data because the dashboard moved.
Can we reduce report sprawl?
